In 2026, all four businesses received recognition through the SME News UK Enterprise Awards. This was an incredibly proud milestone, both personally and professionally. Becoming the founder of four award-winning UK businesses did not happen overnight. Each company grew from a different combination of training, professional experience, personal interests and long-term ambition.
Building a Multi-Business Career
My professional journey has never been restricted to one job title or one industry.
I am a qualified plumber and bathroom fitter with more than ten years of trade experience. I am also a trained aquarist with a longstanding interest in fish care, aquariums and aquascaping.
My work has expanded into pet care and retail, leading to the development of Urban Pet Play Ltd. Alongside these businesses, I have also worked within modelling and became the Vulcan cover model for Pretty Boy, Issue 52.
Some people believe that choosing one career means abandoning every other interest. My experience has shown that skills and passions can complement one another.
Plumbing provided technical expertise and practical problem-solving. Aquarium work combined creativity with an understanding of water, filtration and aquatic life. Pet care required compassion, responsibility and strong customer trust.
Creating four companies allowed each specialist area to have its own identity while benefiting from my broader experience as a founder.

As an openly gay founder, I am proud to build businesses across industries that do not always appear connected with LGBTQ+ visibility.
Plumbing and skilled trades have traditionally been represented through narrow ideas about masculinity. My career demonstrates that technical ability is not determined by sexuality.
Aquascaping allows me to express creativity and an appreciation for natural design. Pet care reflects compassion and responsibility.
My professional identity can contain all of these qualities.

My journey began with vocational training and practical experience.
Passing City & Guilds and BPEC plumbing examinations in Southampton in 2010 gave me an important technical foundation.
Further aquarist studies developed my specialist understanding of aquarium systems and fish care.

The journey was not perfectly straight. Few entrepreneurial stories are.
